Please join us for Queer Hike I.E.'s August hike! We will be meeting at Potato Mountain Trailhead to explore the Potato Mountain - Wilderness Trail in city of Claremont, CA.
Enjoy this 4.3-mile out-and-back trail near Claremont, California. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 2 hours and 27 minutes to complete. This is a very popular area for birding, hiking, and running, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. This trail takes you to the top of a Potato Mountain and has great views. This is a great hike for watching the sunset. This mapped route takes you along the first short distance up Mount Baldy Road. Keep your eye out for wildlife like acorn woodpeckers and hawks on your trip. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.

Where Can I park?
There is limited parking at the trailhead. You can park along Mount Baldy Road and walk up the road to the trailhead if there is no parking available there.
Social distancing is encouraged. Please stay home if you have any symptoms or have been exposed to anyone who has contracted the COVID-19 virus.
- Please wear hiking boots or shoes with grip and ankle support.
- Dress in layers to handle changing weather conditions.
- Bring water and light snacks for yourself
- Plan for a 2 hour outing and please let us know if you have any health concerns that might put you at risk during our hike. Safety is always a priority.
- Leave no trace! Please take home whatever trash you might have with you on the hike.
- Parking is limited. Please try to arrive early to find parking.
